I recently tried Dos Perros in downtown Durham, a Mexican restaurant with a creative flair to their menu. My husband and I enjoyed the guacamole, sangria and homemade tortilla chips as an appetizer on a hot steamy summer evening. We both ordered the salmon which was the fish special and came served on a bed of black bean puree garnished with fried sweet plantains and a delicious avocado salad. The fish was perfectly cooked and the puree and plantains were wonderful. The combination of flavors worked well and the presentation was fabulous. My photo here doesn’t do it justice but it gives you an idea.
The service was professional and the atmosphere was casual and open. I would recommend the place to anyone who wants something more elevated than burritos and tacos in the downtown area.
